Gulf News

Gulf News, the flagship publication of Al Nisr Publishing LLC, is the undisputed leading English daily in the Gulf. Founded in 1978 as a tabloid format newspaper, it was acquired by Al Nisr Publishing LLC in 1984, and re-launched as a Broadsheet in 1985.

Always the trend-setter, Gulf News addressed the need for a more structured and easy to navigate publication. On June 21, 2003 the newspaper was re-designed with the current modern ‘new’ look, heralding an era of visual journalism into the Gulf. Apart from the total revamp of the advertising and editorial designs, it further upgraded its technology making it possible to print 72 broadsheet, full colour pages simultaneously, with 24 pages heat set.

The new design also marked another chapter in the continuous effort to improve the newspaper, to cater to the needs of the readers and advertisers, to establish commercial dominance within the region and do what leaders in the market normally do: Set the standards and keep them high.

The stylish Gulf News daily newspackage includes the News, Business & Sports sections, the Tabloid, Classifieds, Properties and Appointments section, complemented by the weekly `Entertainment Plus’, and `Friday', representing the paper’s formidable dominance within the region. In addition to this elite group are the two monthly niche magazines published by Al Nisr Media FZ LLC, entitled ‘Aquarius’ the health, fitness and lifestyle magazine and ‘InsideOut’ the definitive new magazine, focussing on aspirational exteriors, interiors and property.

With every move Gulf News embraced new developments in how to present news and views, and kept up to date with cutting-edge technology in editing and printing. Keeping pace with communications and information technology is the Gulf News web edition, which is an instant window on breaking news to a targeted readership both at home and abroad, with over 28,000 daily visitors to the website.

A recent survey conducted by IPSOS-STAT, an independent research company, highlighted the phenomenal growth of Gulf News and reiterated its position as No.1 English Language Daily Newspaper in the UAE. The IPSOS-STAT findings also confirmed the leading readership figures of ‘Friday’, ‘Entertainment Plus’ and ‘Tabloid’

These achievements are testimony to the vibrancy of Gulf News today. As a strong and powerful entity, this leader is setting the pace for tomorrow and bringing to its readers every morning, the world unfolded.

Apart from its commercial dominance, the newspaper's social dominance is reflected through its involvement with nearly every major cultural, sporting and business related event held in the region as either sponsor or organiser. It is committed to supporting events that promote Dubai worldwide and also to promoting community and sporting events within the region.

Gulf News supported the first Dubai Strategy Forum held in 2002 and is proud to support this prestigious event, once again in 2004.
