Dr. Jean Pierre Laviec is the Director for the International Institute for Labour Studies.  His previous posts include Director of the ILO Office for Central and Eastern Europe in Budapest, Hungary, Chief of the Standards Policy and Information Branch in Geneva, Switzerland, and Chief of the Legislative Information Branch in Geneva.  He is also currently Visiting Professor and Senior Lecturer in International Economic Law, The Graduate Institute of International Studies (IUHEI) in Geneva, Switzerland. 

Dr, Laviec earned his BA in Political Science from Institut d'Etudes Politiques, University of Paris, France, LLM Master's Degree in Law, from the University of Paris II, France and PhD in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (IUHEI), Geneva, Switzerland.
