Dr.
Ghassan Salameh is Professor of International Relations at the Institut
d'études politiques, Senior adviser, The United Nations Secretary General,
Member of the Board, International Crisis Group (ICG) and personal
representative of the SG on cultural diversity, Oragnisation Internationale
de la Francophonie. Former Minister of Culture of Lebanon, Dr. Ghassan was
also appointed Chairman and Spokesman of the Organization Committee for the
Arab Summit and of the Francophone Summit (October 2002) in Beirut. As
minister, he was member of a number of missions abroad (Non Aligned Summit,
World Bank, European Union, France, The United States, Russia, China). He
led missions to France, Italy, Germany, and a large number of Arab and
African countries. He also was a member of several inter-ministerial
committees, notably on the reform of the Higher Education system, jobs for
university graduates, productivity in the public administration,
e-government.
Dr.
Salameh earned his PhD in Political Science and a PhD in Literature from
Paris University, a DEA (Advanced Degree) in Public International Law also
from Paris University, after his initial higher education in Beirut.
